Accounts & Subscriptions
Understand the difference between your account, client, and subscription to avoid confusion when updating or moving configurations.
Client downloads →Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Keep both safe, and never post your password together with your subscription link in a public forum. After creating an account, visit the dashboard to review plans and find client downloads, then choose a data plan that suits your needs. Your login details let you access the dashboard; your subscription link lets your client retrieve route configurations. They serve different purposes and are not interchangeable. If you need help, describe the issue in a support ticket from the dashboard. Do not include your password.
Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I sync updates to my client?
Sign in to the dashboard and find the subscription link in your account overview. Then open the subscription or configuration manager in your client and import it. If you already have a subscription, select it and run an update. When it finishes, choose a route and connect again. If the link in your dashboard has changed, replace the old link with the one currently shown there before updating. Do not treat a temporary configuration for a single route as a full subscription or create multiple configurations with the same name. Clear names make it easier to avoid selecting an outdated route.
Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch computers or add a device?
SpaVPN supports unlimited devices, so you do not need to change plans just because you replace or add a device. Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are supported. On each device, open the dashboard, follow the platform-specific instructions to get a client, and import your subscription. Devices share the plan's data allowance; each device does not receive a separate allowance. After moving to a new device, remove configurations you no longer use. If you pass on an old device, sign out and remove any saved subscriptions.
Can I send my subscription link to someone for troubleshooting?
Treat your subscription link like account credentials and avoid sharing it. Troubleshooting usually only requires the client name, operating system, error message, selected region, and network environment where the issue occurred. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your subscription link, account details, and payment information. If the link has been exposed publicly, check the subscription management section of your dashboard for a reset or update option. If you cannot find one, open a support ticket. After taking action, update the subscription on any devices you still use so they do not keep using the old configuration.
What is the difference between a client and a subscription, and where do I get them?
A client is the software that connects your device; a subscription lets the client retrieve route configurations. Installing a client does not import a subscription, and after importing one, you still need to select a configuration and connect. Use the download section in the SpaVPN dashboard for platform-specific instructions. Sign in to get your subscription, and avoid installers from unknown sources or subscriptions shared publicly. Different platforms may call the relevant option Configuration, Subscription, or Service Configuration. Check the route list to confirm setup, not just whether the app is open.
Connections & Troubleshooting
Check your local network first, then review your subscription and app settings. Change one thing at a time.
Submit a ticket →The client says connected, but webpages still won't load. What should I check first?
First, pause the proxy and check that your current network can access familiar websites. Once your local connection is working, check your plan status and remaining data in the dashboard, then update the subscription in your client. Confirm the selected configuration and route, try another region, and reload the webpage. A connected status only means the connection process is enabled; it does not guarantee that a particular website is reachable. If the same issue occurs on every route, note the error message and open a support ticket. Avoid changing several settings at once, such as protocol, DNS, and routing.
Why does my browser work, but a particular app doesn't use the proxy?
Browsers and apps may use different network paths. Check whether the client is set to proxy browser traffic only, or whether a split-tunneling rule sends the app directly. Some apps require system-wide traffic routing and the relevant operating-system permissions. Before making changes, read the client documentation and save your current settings, then test the app. Check whether the app is holding on to an old connection; fully quit and reopen it if needed. If the app has its own region or account requirements, a working proxy connection does not guarantee that the app will provide a particular feature.
What should I do if a subscription update fails or the route list is empty?
First, check that the subscription link is still visible in your dashboard. When copying it, make sure you have not added spaces or line breaks or missed the end of the address. In your client, select the existing subscription and update it. Note whether the error says the address is invalid, the network timed out, or the format is unsupported. If your current network cannot retrieve the subscription, confirm that your local connection is working and try again. Follow the download instructions to use a compatible client; do not repeatedly open the subscription link as if it were a webpage. When submitting a support ticket, include the error message, not the full subscription link.
Do I need to import my subscription again after switching networks or waking my device from sleep?
Usually, reconnect first instead of deleting the subscription. Switching networks or putting a device to sleep can interrupt an existing connection. Wait for your local network to recover, then disconnect and reconnect to the current route in your client. On mobile devices, check whether the operating system restricts background activity or has disabled a required network permission. If the route list is still there, your configuration has not been lost. Follow the dashboard instructions only if the subscription link has expired, the configuration is damaged, or the client explicitly asks you to update it. Reinstalling repeatedly can erase error details that would help identify the problem.
What information should I include in a connection troubleshooting ticket?
Include your platform, client name, selected route region, current network environment, the website or app you are trying to use, and the full error message. Say whether the issue is persistent or only occurs at certain times or after switching networks, and list the steps you have already tried. You can attach screenshots with sensitive details hidden, but do not include your password, full subscription link, or sensitive payment information. If only one app is affected, say whether your browser works too. This helps distinguish app routing or account restrictions from a route connection issue.
Speed & Routes
Assess the region, route, and destination platform separately. Route type is only one factor in your experience.
View Route Details → Read the Protocol Guide →How many countries and routes are available, and how should I choose a region?
SpaVPN covers 100+ countries with 240+ routes. When choosing a region, check whether the service you want to use has specific location requirements, then test the connection on your current network. A nearby location can be a good starting point, but map distance alone does not predict performance: the route between you and the destination and the service's location matter too. For everyday use, keep a region that works well for you. For a specific platform, also check its account, content, and service rules. The routes page describes regions and route types; the configurations available to you are shown in your dashboard subscription.
Videos buffer during peak hours. How can I troubleshoot effectively?
Pause large downloads, cloud sync, or background updates on other devices, then check that your local Wi-Fi connection is stable. Keep the same video and try other routes in the same region. If it still buffers, try another region suited to the platform. Change one thing at a time so you can tell whether the difference comes from your local network, the route, or the platform. Video quality also affects data use and the bandwidth needed for continuous playback. Peak-hour performance depends on your actual network conditions; do not assume a route is suitable based only on a status indicator in the client.
Is there a set preference order for IEPL, relay, and direct routes?
These names describe different network paths, not a performance ranking that applies to everyone. Direct routes connect without an intermediate relay; relay routes use an intermediate node to adjust the path; dedicated routes use a dedicated link for part of the transmission. The experience also depends on your local carrier network, the service's location, and the time of day. Start by identifying what you need, then compare performance for the same destination. If your current route works well, there is no need to switch frequently just because another route has a different label. See the protocol guide for more on choosing protocols and routes.
Why are AI tools or streaming services still unavailable when a speed test looks fine?
A speed test mainly measures the connection between its test server and your current route; it does not confirm that a particular platform will work. AI tools and streaming services may also check your region, account eligibility, subscription status, or exit IP address. A working network connection does not mean specific content or features are available. Check the platform's official guidance, confirm that your selected region is appropriate, and reopen the app to test again if needed. Avoid cycling through many regions at random. Keeping the error message and current route details will help identify whether the issue comes from platform rules or the connection.
Which protocol should I choose, and do I need to change advanced settings myself?
If you are new to the service, keep the configuration provided by your client and subscription. First verify that you can connect, then consider choosing a protocol. Protocols differ in transport, client support, and how they adapt to network conditions; their names alone do not indicate speed or battery use. If you run into trouble, try another route already included in your subscription instead of changing the server address or authentication fields yourself. If you need to adjust advanced settings, record the original values and read the protocol guide first. Settings copied from another device may break a connection that works on your own system and network.
Billing & Refunds
Check the billing method and order status before handling an upgrade, payment, or refund request.
View Plans → Read the Refund Policy →What do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?
Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your plan's activation date. Choose a plan based on your video streaming, file transfer, and shared-device needs, not just the number of devices. Check your plan status and data use in the dashboard. Resets follow your activation date, not the start of the calendar month. If you are unsure about your current cycle, check your account overview and order history, then open a support ticket with the relevant order details.
What is the difference between a data pack and a monthly plan?
Data packs are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They last until used and never expire. Monthly plans reset data each month on the activation date, so the two options suit different usage patterns. If your usage varies, compare the options with your actual data needs rather than treating a data pack as a monthly allowance. If you already have a plan, check the order details in your dashboard before choosing another product. For questions about switching plans, how allowances relate, or unclear account details, confirm the details through a support ticket before proceeding.
What happens to the price difference if I upgrade a monthly plan partway through the cycle?
The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into remaining days. Choose your target plan in the dashboard and check the displayed charge and account status before confirming. Do not assume the difference converts into extra data or a fixed bonus period. Before upgrading, check your current data usage to decide whether a different plan is needed. If the charge differs from what you expected, save the order details and ask support to review them. An upgrade is not effective until confirmed; check the final status in your account overview.
Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan doesn't update after payment?
We accept Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Start the payment from an order in your dashboard and check the order details before proceeding. If payment is complete but your plan status has not changed, check the order status in your order list, then refresh your account overview. Do not pay again before checking. If you need help, open a support ticket with the order ID, payment method, and a description of the issue. Hide sensitive information in screenshots. Do not transfer money to personal addresses posted in discussion forums or treat payment instructions in a chat as confirmation of your dashboard order status.
How do I request a refund, and what information should I provide?
SpaVPN offers a 60-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to your dashboard, open a support ticket, and include the order ID so the relevant transaction can be checked. Follow up in the same ticket rather than submitting multiple requests for the same order. Do not include your password or full subscription link. If you are also having connection issues, you can attach an error screenshot with sensitive details hidden. See the refund policy for eligibility and full terms. The ticket response and order history show the status of your request.
